Case Study on Building a Successful Long-Term Collaboration : BENU

At datasapiens, we are grateful to have long-term clients who understand the power of data.

We appreciate working with industry leaders and early adopters. We are challenging each other, which brings our platform forward.

Our longest partnership is with BENU pharmacies. BENU is one of the two leading pharmacy chains in the Czech Republic. In 2022 BENU increased its turnover by 17% to 10.2 billion CZK (12.5 including franchise pharmacies). We have been collaborating since 2016.

During these past seven years, we developed a Business Intelligence platform together. We are constantly fine-tuning our product to keep pace with the business priorities.

Key Facts

  • More than 40 reports serving different audiences

  • Over 300 pharmacies use our platform daily

  • 40 new pharmacies were onboarded in the last year alone

  • Keeping track of sales, shopping patterns, promotions, price, EBITDA, or employee performance

Specific Access across Teams

The aim is to help BENU improve their offerings, sales, and marketing strategy. And also drive decisions leading to operational changes or cost savings.

As with our other clients, we have permissions and user management features in place.

As a result, each user sees only reports, pharmacies, and categories relevant to their work. (pharmacists, the leadership, the commercial team, the controlling department, or regional managers)

At the same time, the core reports and key KPIs are visible to everyone. This makes discussing findings across the organization easy.

Daily Updates

Thanks to our platform, BENU can make fast decisions as the reports are updated daily.

Users can compare daily business performance versus last year or the budget. And take measures to drive the business in the right direction.

With BENU’s yearly turnover of ca 0.5 BLN USD => a single 1% improvement is worth 5 MIO USD.

Collaboration with Suppliers

In 2019, BENU decided to share data insights with its suppliers.

The new suite of reports focused on suppliers’ performance, competition, and inventory was launched. Today, 28 pharma companies subscribe to BENU's data-sharing platform.

What suppliers appreciate the most is the clarity and intuitiveness. They can quickly find essential information and evaluate the success of their activities. Be it about products, sales representatives, or opportunities for further growth.

The benefit for BENU is three-fold:

  • a new source of revenue

  • improved cooperation with suppliers

  • one source of truth - unifying the data used for business negotiations with suppliers

If you are working for a retailer considering leveraging its data, give us a shout. We will show you how to best use the data you already have.
